Do you accept cash or personal
checks? ABSOLUTELY
NOT!
When do I have to
pay?
Unless prior arrangements have been made then please pay for the items you purchase at the time of purchase.
We accept credit cards and PayPal.
If paying using a money order then we will hold the item open for ten days after
purchase to give you plenty of time to mail it. After the ten days we will void out
the unpaid purchases and return the items back into inventory.
What payment
types do you accept?
Currently we accept
Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover, eCheck, Western Union Money
Transfer, and PayPal. On eChecks there is a delay of a few days as they
must clear your bank. All
money orders must be in dollars and must be cashable at a US bank.
How long will it take
to arrive at my location? How
long does it take
when you send something? No one can tell how long something will take in
the mail. At checkout we furnish time estimates provided from the US
Postal Service but they are estimates only. We will not assume loss until six
to eight weeks after shipping has occurred.
Top
Why are there postal delays?
We really don’t know
but we do know that it isn’t at out end as we always ship very rapidly
after payment is made. If it is an international shipment then
often delays are in clearing customs, something all letters and packages must do.
Top
Are there times
to expect late arrivals?
Sure! Christmas,
Tet (the Chinese Lunar New Year), and other major holidays finds us closed and
the mails are slow around those times. There is nothing we or anyone else can do to speed up the mails
during major holidays.
Top
Can you tell me where my order is?
Unless you chose a shipping option that included tracking then we cannot. We can tell you
when it was mailed, but just as when you mail
something we cannot know where it is. Tracking is hugely expensive and not a
viable option for most items, but we have a fantastically low rate of
loss so I am very confident about items arriving.

Is this an original patch?
We believe
many of them are
but because of the large number of replicas in the market we cannot be
totally certain. Most of the patches we have we have had for years.
Some were obtained in Vietnam, some in the US, and some from the UK.
All vendors assure us that their goods are original but they offer no proof and for most patches there is no
way to verify what they claim.
As there is no way to absolutely verify an item,
to be safe, we will almost never claim that a patch we sell is original.
This does not mean that it is not but it does mean that we are not 100%
sure. No one selling a patch, unless they brought it home with
them, can trace a patch back to the original owner, or have had it
appraised, can tell you they are 100% sure.
For instance,
because veterans wanted a patch from the unit they served with, many
WWII patches now sold as original were produced after the war using the
same materials and by the same folks who made them originally.
Many believe that the majority of patches from that period are replicas
and can be traced back to the period directly after WWII ended.
The replicas are identical to originals as they were produced to fill a
need by the original manufacturers. This is much the same as what has been done since those
times and before.
If it must only
an
original patch, and you think you can find one that is somehow "certified to be that"
then buy them from that person. But you had better ask for some proof
other than someone saying, "It is 100% original," otherwise you are buying based
on someone's opinion, right or wrong. Top

What if
there's a mistake in your title or description?
Then please let
us know. We are not perfect and will promptly remove any patch
that is mislabeled. If it is not noted until after it arrives to your
location then we will issue a full refund, including shipping, after it
has been returned.

How long does
it take you to ship after I have paid for the items?
Except for certain holidays,
as
noted at the end of this paragraph, we ship within 72 hours.
Shipping is
our priority number one.
The only exceptions to
items leaving within 72 hours are during the Tet Holiday (Chinese Lunar New Year), Christmas Eve and day,
and New Years eve and day when we are closed and all other US major holidays. All
auctions ending on these holidays will be shipped with 72 hours following
the end of the holiday.
Why is it so hard
to know if something is original?
Do
they look original? Yes, they are being made
by the same people who made them originally and using the same machines and
materials as were used on the originals.
There are also a great
number of items that are portrayed by experts, sellers, and even in books or
articles as original but that are not. We know of several sites that sell
patches which we know are not original, and we know of several books
whose authors commissioned patches to be made and then portrayed them as original.
We also know of patches that
are made from fantasy designs to look like originals and then sold as very rare
patches. They are rare ok! Because they never were around forty years ago.
We will not sell that kind of item at all, were tricked on a few, and destroyed them when we
found out.
It is a very complicated
market. Even if not true it is best to assume that most patches are not original, even those which are
sold for very high dollars by experts, and to ask for some proof if someone says it
is original. We don’t think you’ll get any proof in most cases as it cannot be
proved in the majority of cases.

Are
reproductions horrible to have in my collection?
No, not really. Is a
copy of the Declaration of Independence hanging on your wall or mine horrible?
If the choice becomes
either to have one that looks and feels like an original or to have
nothing at all then I guess it is up to the individual. Many
collectors use reproductions to fill an empty spot until they can
purchase one that they feel is original. That is their business
not mine.

Are your patches made on a
computer?
If we are selling a computer made patch it will ONLY be one that was made that
way originally from about 1980 onwards. If identifying
originals is almost impossible, seeing the difference between a computer and
non-computer made one is usually pretty easy. If a patch type was was not
originally made on a computer then we will never sell one that has been made on
a computer.
Top
What if you are
absolutely sure something is original?
Only when we are 100% sure that something is original,
meets the conditions above, AND we can prove it in some way will we mark it as
such in the description. That does not happen often for insignia though
other items are often original.
Top
Do you make patches or other items?
No,
we do not make patches or other items and never have. We purchase all
items from many different sources. Some are from Vietnam, a couple in the
US, one in the United Kingdom, and some, but few, we have purchase on eBay and
at other online venues.
